Work and Play: Exciting Games To Try with Your Officemates
Going to work doesn’t have to be something you dread everyday. As you ponder through job openings, make sure you’re looking at companies where work and fun co-exists.
Be enthusiastic about going to work every day with these fun games you can play!
1. Uno Cards
Players: 2-10 people can play
Set-up: Every player starts with seven cards, and they are dealt face down. The rest of the cards are placed in a draw pile face down. You have to match either by the number, color, or the symbol/action. For instance, if the discard pile has a red card that is an 8, you have to place either a red card or a card with an 8 on it. You can also play a “wild card” (which can alter current color in play).
2. Uno Stacko
Players: Suggested is 2-4 people but you can have as many players as you want!
Set-up: The players roll a cube to find out what moves they have to make. When the cube is a colored number, the player has to grab the color or number from the tower. The game is very similar to Jenga. The first person to make the tower fall, lose the game.
Players: Minimum of 2 people per team. More players, more fun!
Set-up: In Codenames, two teams compete to see who can make contact with all of their agents first. Spymasters give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. Their teammates try to guess words of the right color while avoiding those that belong to the opposing team. And everyone wants to avoid the assassin.
4. Ultimate Werewolf
Players: Can be played with 5 to 75 players of all ages.
Set-up: Each player has an agenda: as a villager, hunt down the werewolves and vampires; as a werewolf or vampire, convince the other villagers that you are innocent, while secretly attacking those same villagers each night.
5. Monopoly Deal Card Game
Players: Minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 people can play.
Set-up: Be the first player to collect 3 three full property sets of different colors to win. Beware of the Debt Collectors, Forced Deals and the dreaded Deal Breakers cards, which could change your fortunes at any time!
Play up to three cards from your hand face up either as: money into your bank, properties or improvements into your collection, or actions. Action cards allow you to collect rent, receive money, take properties from others or cancel another action. Cards placed in your bank may only be used as money. When you must make a payment, you may use money from your bank or properties and improvements in your collection, but not cards in your hand. Discard cards in excess of seven from your hand to the bottom of the draw pile. Win by announcing it on your turn when you have three complete property sets of different colors. No matter what kind of work you have – IT jobs, telemarketing jobs, or other roles – this game of estates will always be fun!
